Maeola McGaha

Mrs. Maeola (Edwards) McGaha, age 97, of Pioneer Village returned to her Heavenly Father on January 16, 2024. Mrs. McGaha was born on May 3, 1926, in Louisville, KY to the late Charles and Ruth (Colvin) Edwards. Mrs. McGaha was a homemaker and member of Harvest Church of God. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and an avid UK fan. She was very active, enjoying riding motorcycles, traveling with a women's baseball team, and dancing on Wednesday nights at El Maguey Mexican restaurant. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, husband, Cliff McGaha; sons, Loyd and Scotty McGaha; daughter, Connie Jesse; grandchildren, Jeremy Freeman, Sara Goben, and Beth McGaha; great-granddaughter, Damara Jesse; sons-in-law, Tommy Freeman and Ronnie Jesse; and daughter-in-law, JoAnn McGaha.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rick McGaha (Ruthann Rice) and Robin Freeman; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Doug and Cathy Albertson.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Monday, January 22, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1-8 pm and Monday from 9 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus.
