Mahala Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 13, 2024.
Mahala "Molly" Heather Jones passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2024, at her residence. She was 44 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death.
Mahala is survived and cherished by her loving children, Creed Krosnoff and Bentley Redwine; stepdaughters, Harmonie and Paris Redwine; mother and stepfather, Melinda and Kevin Potter; father, Michael Barnes; sisters, Leia Barnes and Lacey McInnis; brothers, Gavin Greenough and Jake Norman; grandson, Dakota Robb; and grandfather, Robert Jones.
She was born at Elmendorf Air Force Hospital on October 3, 1980 and grew up in Soldotna, Alaska. Later, she moved back to Anchorage, Alaska, where she eventually settled down to call home. Some of her greatest joy came from her children. They created many memories while enjoying camping trips as a family all over Alaska.
She was a grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Mahala had an unquenchable thirst for helping people. She often spent her spare time helping anyone in need who asked for it, even if it meant giving the last little bit she had. She enjoyed watching her children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren grow up. She loved hosting family and friends, cooking, dancing, karaoke, having game nights, and laughing whenever surrounded by good company. Mahala loved spending time with family and never turned down a chance to host a gathering.
Mahala will be cremated and the family is currently planning a celebration of life, details to follow.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mahala and her beautiful family in 2008. She was a very positive spirit and as i was an overwhelmed single father of 4 she would often somehow make herself available to help. She was a great friend and my family will miss her deeply. A beautiful life cut far too short.

We love Mahala! It is great sadness to hear of her passing. We at Java the Hut will always remember her kindness and spunk. Many a conversation was had when she came through our coffee shop over the years. Please let us know when her celebration of life will be. Carrie

Molly was a bright star in our universe, she was a wonderful human being, mother of Zachary and Bentley, and a wonderful friend to many. The physical world has lost an angel but Heaven has gained one. Even though my heart aches for the loss of my Daughter I am comforted by knowing she is in no pain now. I love You Molly.
