Im so sorry to hear of the passing of a remarkable baking mentor and treasured cook book author. I honed my baking skills from Maidas baking books starting in the early 80s and was honored to meet her a couple times at cook book signings.
May her baking live on through her incredible books and recipes!

I was lucky enough to spend time with Maida in her kitchen and come away with beautiful treats from her jars of baked goods. What a lovely person! Full of curiosity, life and joy!
Thank you for your beautifully written recipes. There never was a doubt your well written recipes wouldn't turn out picture perfect. Polka-dot cheesecake anyone?
Heaven just got more heavenly with Maida in the kitchen.

To the Heatter Family, many people thrive on the delicate intricacies of gastronomy, the study of food. God promises that one day we will have this kind of life, everlasting in the abundance of peace. (Psalms 38:4,11; NWT) He also promises to grant us the desires of our heart. So, to desire to have time again with your loved one, enjoying food and living in peace is a promise. Until such time I extend to you my deepest sympathies on your loss.

I was given 10 pounds of Guittard Chocolate many years ago. I bought Maida's chocolate cookbook and made so many delicious cakes, etc from the book. I wrote to her thanking her for such a wonderful book and she wrote me back! I framed her letter and still have it on my kitchen wall. The culinary world will celebrate her forever!!
