Maizie passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Maizie was a life-long resident of the Monroeville/Upper Pittsgrove area, where she attended the local grammar school and graduated from Woodstown High School in 1944. Among her awards and honors she received a Service Award from the Salem County Board of Freeholders in 1988, the Elmer Grange Community Person of the Year in 1989, the 2000 Legion of Honor Award given by the Marines from the Chapel of Four Chaplains at the Guardian of the Sea Chapel in Cape May. In 2004 she received the Salem County Commission on Women Achievement Award. Among her awards and honors she received a Service Award from the Salem County Board of Freeholders in 1988, the Elmer Grange Community Person of the Year in 1989, the 2000 Legion of Honor Award given by the Marines from the Chapel of Four Chaplains at the Guardian of the Sea Chapel in Cape May. In 2004 she received the Salem County Commission on Women Achievement Award. Services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Adams Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation from 10 AM to 12 PM with the funeral service at 12 PM. Burial will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Elmer Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund in Maizie's name to the Elmer Presbyterian Church, PO Box 553, Elmer, NJ 08318 or to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 150 E. 9th Avenue, Runnemede, NJ 08078.
