Maj. Wayne "Pops" E. Plump, USAF Obituary
Wayne grew up active in St. Paul’s UCC, graduated from Reitz H.S., married Virginia ‘Ginny’ Timberlake (1964), and flew for the USAF for 20 years followed by American Airlines until retirement. Wayne is survived by best friend and wife, Ginny; daughters Holly and Kerrie; sister, Norma Jean Thomas; and nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221. The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Bellevue UMC, 7501 Old Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation will precede the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in memory of Wayne to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/?ver=b) or The Gary Sinise Foundation (https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/).
