After a life well-lived, Major (Ret.) Larry Glen Krutsinger, 69, of Hampton Cove, AL, died peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Frances, and daughters, Erin and Jamie.

Larry was born March 13, 1956, in Flora, Illinois, to Wayne and Ollie Magdeline (Perry) Krutsinger. He was a 1974 graduate of Flora High School. He obtained his associate's degree before joining the U.S. Army in 1976. He obtained his bachelor's degree in 1980 from Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma, and his master's degree in 1992 from Chapman College, Orange, California. He started his Army career as a military policeman before being promoted to warrant officer and worked as a special agent with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. In 1985, Larry received his commission through Officer Candidate School, Ft. Benning, Georgia, and was a military police officer before retiring in 1997. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the federal government as a division chief for Army Materiel Command for 21 years.

On September 16, 1977, Larry married Frances Bailey, also of Flora, at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. They were married for 47 years and are the proud parents of two daughters, Erin (Kent) Jones of Rosenberg, Texas, and Jamie (Joshua) Morris of Lithia, Florida. They are the proud grandparents of Avery Kate and Ty Krutsinger Jones and Sydney Katherine and Kate Elizabeth Morris.

Larry is also survived by two brothers, Richard (Chun) Krutsinger and Michael Krutsinger of Flora; sister, Kelly Krutsinger; mother-in-law, Lois Bailey of Flora; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Kae (Wayne) Owens, sister-in-law, Connie Bailey (Michael) Krutsinger, and father-in-law, Eldon Bailey.

A man of many passions, Larry was an avid skeet shooter who was inducted into the Alabama Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame in 2019. He found joy in competing annually at the Armed Forces Skeet Championships, the Alabama State Shoot, and other skeet shooting events across Alabama and Tennessee. He was an active member of the MARS Skeet and Trap Club at Redstone Arsenal.

Larry was a passionate fan of college football, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, and valued time with his family. He loved to share his love of skeet shooting with others, especially his family. His grandkids viewed him as their number one fan as he was always eager to support their love of softball, football, soccer, and band. They cherish fond memories of vacations together, games of chess, hunting for golf balls on the golf course, and joking around with their grandpa!

A Celebration of Life will be held September 14, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Avenue, Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., followed by the service at 3 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to share memories and celebrate the remarkable life of Larry Glen Krutsinger-a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and proud American. A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, Illinois, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
