Makayla Rose DeSantis

Makayla Rose DeSantis, of Colchester, passed away on March 8, 2026. She was born in Middletown, CT on May 13, 2002, to Michael and Kim DeSantis. After graduating from Lyman Memorial High School, she moved to Maine and worked at 45 North at Sugarloaf, a ski resort in Maine.

Makayla truly enjoyed going to work each day at Sugarloaf, where she was surrounded by people who supported and cared for her. Her strong work ethic and quiet determination did not go unnoticed; through dedication and perseverance, she worked her way into a management role. Outside of work, Makayla found joy in simple, meaningful things-baking, culinary creations and ideas with friends and family and expressing her creativity through floral design, painting and crafts. She was a deeply caring person who naturally put others before herself. If someone needed help, Makayla never hesitated to set aside whatever she was doing and be there for them, a reflection of the kindness and generosity that defined her life.

Makayla will be deeply missed but always remembered with love by her parents, Michael and Kim DeSantis; her sister, Max Desantis and her companion Skyla; her grandfather Douglas Harmon; her uncle and his spouse Robert Harmon (Sarah); her cousin Jenaia Harmon; and numerous extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her grandmothers, Francies Harmon and Betteann Judd.

A visitation and celebration of Makayla's life will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, beginning at 10AM.
