Malcolm “Sonny” Locke, 87, formerly of McKean, died Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Wesbury Retirement Community in Meadville. He was born in Sharpsville, PA on February 11, 1937, the son of the late Harry and Gretta Locke.
Sonny graduated from Conneaut Valley High School. He was a boiler maker at Riley Stoker in Erie for many years, and had also worked at the McKean Exxon and Don Trapp BP.
Sonny had many interests throughout his life, including bowling, golf, gardening, playing cards, and camping, most of which were enjoyed in the company of family and friends.
He was a member of the Meadville Elks, St. Francis Usher's Club in McKean, Norrisville Grange and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne in 2018; four sisters, Agnes (Stanley) Baker, Hilda (Mark) Phelan, Mable “Nonie” (George) Porter and Elizabeth “Betty” (Pete) Herrmann; and two brothers, Melvin and Edson (Reita Morian) Locke.
Survivors include his son, Jeff (Anne) Locke of Liverpool NY; his daughter, Camille (Gregory) Heisler of Fort Mill, SC; three grandchildren, Sean Locke and Evan and Gabriella Heisler; a number of nieces, nephews and grand and great grand nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Brenda, Denny and Madison Kovalick.
Friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 8880 Main St., McKean, PA on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
