Shannon Thomas Jr.
November 21, 2025
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Malcolm McCorvey, a dear friend since childhood. Our friendship began in elementary school and grew during Junior and Senior High School where we both played in the band. Malcolm and I attended college at FAMU during the same time period and shared an apartment together for a while. We had similar values and often attended church together. While at FAMU, my girlfriend introduced me to her friend Peggy and I introduced Peggy to Malcolm.
They later married. Malcolm was also a member of my wedding party when I married my late wife, Barbara May Thomas.
I recall many happy times during our lives and I am grateful and blessed for the friendship I shared with Malcolm. He was an exceptional person and will truly be missed.
To Peggy and the family, my prayers are with you. I am asking God to surround you with His perfect peace and love. Blessings,
Shannon Thomas, jr.
