Malcolm Rhines Obituary
Born on August 13, 1944, in Manchester, CT, Malcolm lived a life marked by honor, courage, and commitment to his family and country. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1961, serving with selfless devotion and distinction. His time in the Marines shaped his strong character, teaching him the values of discipline, perseverance, and loyalty-qualities he carried with him throughout his life. He was active in several military organizations and never missed a chance to support fellow veterans.
Outside of his service, Malcolm had a passion for woodworking and painting. He loved spending time at his camper, where he enjoyed the quiet, the company, and the slower pace of campground life. He also enjoyed participating in Life in Balance at Rude Dog Boxing.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents, Priscilla and Malcolm, sister Carolyn and is survived by his sister Nancy, along with his loving wife, Nancy St. Jean Rhines; his children, Corinne, Nadine, and Shawn; four grandchildren; and countless friends and extended family members who will remember him for his strength, kindness, and unwavering sense of duty.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the entire staff at Bride Brook Rehab and Nursing Center in Niantic, CT, for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Malcolm and family.
A celebration of life will be held on November 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Rude Dog Boxing in Putnam, CT. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Malcolm's remarkable life.
Malcolm will be laid to rest at a military cemetery at a later date, with honors recognizing his service.
