Mrs. Mamie Lee Poindexter, age 90, of Cookeville, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Upton-Hay Funeral Home with Kenny Westmoreland officiating and interment to follow in the Williams Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time for the service.
She was born on Wednesday, May 22, 1935, to the late Rossie and Maggie (Testament) Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her spouse, Glyn Poindexter; and daughter Glenda Gribble as well as several siblings.
Mamie is survived by her son, Terry Poindexter (Alice); grandchildren, Hannah Poindexter, Curtis Gribble, and Emily Wood; great-grandchildren, Blake Poindexter, Oliver Philpot, Blane Gribble, and Molly Claire Gribble; brothers, Rossie Anderson, Jr., Jerry Anderson; sisters, Mable Barnes, Ella Mae Kerr, Mary Arnett, and Lucille Sherrell; as well as a host of friends and neighbors that will mourn her passing.
