Manfred Paul "Boe" Bowen passed peacefully from this life on November 1st in Newport News, VA. His body was too broken to continue, and his spirit was ready to fly. Boe was born at Fort Rucker, AL on August 1st, 1958, to the late Antonia Rhinehilda "Hilde" Baus and Loren D. Bowen. Boe grew up in an Army family inspiring his own career in the Army; he served proudly on active duty and in the Georgia National Guard until his military retirement. He then went on to support the military working as a pipefitter with the Union at local shipyards.
While in the Army Boe served in West Germany; it was there he met his beloved "Beans." Returning to the states, Boe and Sarah (Beans) then married at the Chapel of the Centurion on Fort Monroe, VA and have been inseparable for the last 40 years.
Throughout his life Boe enjoyed Harleys, boats, shooting pool, collecting and shooting guns, and guitars! And he loved his family, Boe was always the one to "take care of things" and the one that family depended on. He was happy and willing to always lend a hand to his family and his in-laws.
Boe will always be loved by those left in this life: sisters Judy (Jeff), and Evelyn, brother Chris, his Banks family, nieces, nephews and extended family. He will especially be missed and forever loved by his "Beans."
A graveside service will be held Thursday December 12, 2024 at 2:00pm at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery (5310 Milners Road Suffolk, VA 23434).
Thanks for the many adventures, laughs, long jokes, shooting lessons, and entertaining us while you played those guitars! Keep on strummin' till we see you again. We love you!
