Manual A. Cardozo of Stevenson, California, suddenly passed away on December 5, 2023. Manual was born in Terceira in the Portugal, Azores Islands to Manual L. Cardozo and Maria P. Cardozo on October 12, 1937. Manual emigrated to the United States with his family in 1947. The family settled in the Central Valley where he worked on the land, eventually becoming a herdsman in the dairy industry.
Manual was admired for his skills and competency in dairy farming. He was self-taught in veterinary skills. He was also a dedicated father always providing for his family, which he loved dearly.
Manual was an avid fisherman. He often traveled to Oregon for crab season in his fifth wheel. Most holidays you could find him and Donna in his fifth wheel at Turtle Beach in Manteca fishing. He was creative, using recycled materials to build birdhouses and windmills. With his skills and talents, Manual seemed to stay busy and was able to fix most anything.
Manual is survived by his wife, Donna K. Cardozo and his children Mel Cardozo (Rita), Daniel Cardozo, Maria Thompson, Betty Jean Rogers, Sherry Perry, Lisa Cardozo, and his stepchildren Roger Wilson and Kim Wilson; brother John V. Cardozo; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Manual is predeceased by his parents, Manual L and Maria Cardozo, his sister, Mary, and his stepson Rick Wilson.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on December 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, 7820 Fox Road, Hughson, California. The committal ceremony will take place following the service at Turlock Memorial Park, 425 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
