An additional thought I left out. Manny and I both started our journalism career at The Daily Californian in El Cajon CA in the '60s.

Manny and I became friends on the Daily Aztec at SDSU. We both wanted to be journalists. After graduating, we pursued different paths. I worked for newspapers in Las Vegas and San Diego. Then was drawn into Public Relations and Marketing. Eventually opening my own agency, being bought out and running major international firms. Through our lives, hundreds if not thousands of people pass, mostly never thought of again. Manny was different. Unique. Reflecting on my past, every so often I wondered what ever happened to Manny. I'm glad he accomplished what he set out to become. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I'm glad that, for far too short a time, I called him my friend.
