Manuel Hernandez Sr.

McAllen - Manuel Hernandez Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on January 27th 2026, and has been reunited in heaven with the love of his life, his beloved wife. Manuel "Manny" proudly served in the National Guard for three years. After his service, he married the love of his life Lydia, and together they owned and operated the well-known City Furniture, a business that became a staple in the community for over 30 years. He was a prominent member of several local organizations for many years, most notably the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, where he was deeply involved and respected.He was preceded in death by his parents J.G. & Maria Hernandez, siblings Rudy Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, and his loving wife Lydia Crum Hernandez.Manny is survived by his children Gina (Carter) Biel, Manny (Monica) Hernandez Jr. and Charlie (Deniece) Hernandez; his grandchildren Ashlynn (Chris) Elliff, Anthony Rivera, Alex Hernandez; his great-grandchildren Charley May, Foster & Kenley; his siblings Minnie Villarreal, Eloy Hernandez and Oralia Edgel and countless nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Roman Taravez and his medical staff for their many years of care and the compassionate staff at Valley View Senior Living & Memory Care and Amedysis Hospice for their care and support over the last few years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home.

A private family burial will follow the service. All funeral arrangements are handled through Kreidler Funeral Home.
