r.i.p manuel we will always remember you, we all miss you so much it has been 10 years but in my heart is like it was yesterday. thanks for being like a brother to me you were always there when i needed you always putting a smile in my face.

Mi Tio was the funniest man ever!! He always put a smile on my face. I wish I had more time with him. I still can't believe your gone. We love you and you we always be missed!!!

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

I first found out about this unique, young man at Stories.com when I read a poem there by his niece. I cried all the way through the poem. During the 1990s, I said goodbye to several aunts and uncles--and to one uncle the day after 9-11.



But they were all over sixty years old and died of illnesses--not a young person whose kids were still small dying as someone in the right place at the wrong time falling victim to a hate campaign.



Thanks to both the poem and this tribute, I'll think of a person instead of a statistic when I think of Manuel Patrocino.

May God Bless you and the family and friends that you left behind that horrible day last September. You will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace forever more.
