Manuel J. Salcedo II, 50, Elwood, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, after struggling for years with physical health issues.

He was born November 26, 1975 in Omaha, Nebraska. His family moved to St. Joseph when Manuel was 5 years old. He attended Lafayette High School and later earned his GED, an accomplishment he was very proud of.

He was a roofer for his uncle's construction business for many years.

Manuel was a man of few words, but loved music, especially playing his guitar and harmonica for others. He was a fan of Metallica and Stevie Ray Vaughn, in particular. He also was a big Chiefs fan.

In his younger years, Manuel was involved in MMA fighting, boxing, and kickboxing.

Most of all, Manuel was a loving father and grandfather, who cherished time spent with his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel J. Salcedo I; siblings, Mary Salcedo, Julio Salcedo, and Jessica Gibson; nephew, Jacob Clayton; and best friend, Jamie Dawson.

Survivors include daughters, Brittany Salcedo-Sechler (William Noblet) and Brooke Caton (Trenton); grandchildren, Kayson, Emma, Logan, and Adalynn; his mother, Diane Archey; stepfather, Derek Archey; siblings, Kathy Shuckahosee (Charlie), Tarri Salcedo (Shannon Hailey), Dena Archey (Justin Jones), Daniel Salcedo (Tiffany), Maria Salcedo, Jessie Ray Salcedo (Amber), Brenda Salcedo (Max Contreras), Kristy Nice, and Cayd Mortimore; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends; and best friends, Jimmy Jagodzinski and Daleana Sechler.
