For many years Mara volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul office to summarize and report the value of merchandise, in the thousands each month, from the SVDP stores given freely to families and individuals in need throughout San Mateo County. Without her volunteer help, it would have been difficult for SVDP to serve the thousands of individuals helped on a daily basis with clothing, beds, furniture, and other necessities in the stores. I was the CFO and as she worked next to me, Mara shared her deep faith and love that she lived every day of her life. I trust Jesus and heaven have received Mara with a hero's welcome. Along with our beautiful memories of her smile and kindness; may we all have hope and peace that one day we will be together with Mara in God's eternal home and family.

So many good memories with Mara. The meals and parties at the house. The trips to Trinity. All with Mara's excellent cooking, warm smile and great attitude. The meals and cookies she packed for the guys on hunting/fishing trips made each trip special even if we got skunked. Mara treated all friends like family. I feel very fortunate to be a family friend.
