Maranda Ann (Kelly) Nelson, age 14, of 711 E. 22nd St., was called to Heaven on Friday, March 6, 2009, at home. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Faith Temple United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Faith Temple United Pentecostal Church, 12805 Seippel Road. Maranda was brought into this world on July 6, 1994. Maranda lived a short life but it was a happy and full life. She brought a lot of sunshine and joy to many different people she met. She was currently attending Dubuque Senior High School. Maranda was small in size but she had a big heart and an outgoing fun loving personality and a fiery spirit. She loved the color purple. Survivors: Her Mother: Debra E. (Peter Ballew) Nelson, Dubuque, Iowa Her Father: Kris Nelson, Springfield, Illinois Her Biological Father: Tim (Melissa) Kelly, Dubuque, Iowa 3Sisters: Marissa (Kelly) Nelson,Dubuque, Iowa Katelyn Nelson, Dubuque, Iowa Hayden Kelly, Dubuque, Iowa 2 brothers: Justin Nelson, Dubuque, Iowa Orion Stock, Dubuque, Iowa Best Friend: Tiffany Ann Soppe and many other close friends too numerous to name. Great-Grandmother: Elizabeth M. McClain, Dubuque, Iowa Grandparents: David L. and Debra C. Krier, Dubuque, Iowa Thomas "E" (Tracy) Nelson, San Diego, California Kathy (Richard) DeMaio, Phoenix, Arizona Rick (Michelle) Pitz, Dubuque, Iowa Larry and Melody Noga, Battle Creek, Michigan Tim (Darlene) Kelly, Texas Godparents: Daniel Krier and Kimberly Moore, Dubuque, Iowa Many great aunts, uncles, and cousins She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Herbert H. McClain, Anthony Krier, Mary Jane Krier, Delbert Nelson, Patricia Nelson, Carl DeMaio, Nancy DeMaio, Harold Hale, Lucille Hale, James Kelly, Mary Jane Kelly and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins who are waiting patiently for Maranda to join them. A Maranda Ann (Kelly) Nelson Memorial Fund has been established. The Nelson family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers.
