Marc was a long-time dear friend whose humor and creativity always uplifted me. I refused, in the early 1980s, to open my newly relocated Pediatric Dental office without having one of his amazing caricatures as my logo - one that my patients cherished for generations. As an intellectual he had few equals and as a calligrapher par excellence, none. I still enjoy his "High Gothic" lithographs that hang prominently on my wall.
Marc will be sorely missed here, in Portsmouth and in the U.K. Unquestionably a character but an elf of broad stature. You left your mark, Marc!

I was no more than a regular customer of Marc in the 1980's. I was a dentist in practice in Chesapeake, Virginia, and had Marc completely take over all my personal communication needs with a very talented rendition of a business card depicting a large, amazingly accurate panoramic radiograph, with me and my staff standing around it , marveling at his skill in its re-creation. We, of course, were all in Drogin style caricature, and just loved it, as did every one of my patients. Each one always received a Drogin creation of my appointment cards, as well as "check up" postcards, holiday greetings and birthday wishes. He also created two distinct sets of professional stationary (one standard with my Drogin logo, and one calligraphic design for more formal, professional usage), along with the accompanying Drogin red bordered envelope, with my caricatured return address. I really loved this man, even though we had never personally met.

One final thought: Once I retired and sold my practice, I discovered an unpaid invoice from Marc; I stored it with my dental literature, and came across it again here, 21 years later. I am now a freelance healthcare writer, and thought I would contact Marc after all these years, pay his bill, and get him to do some work for me. Having lost time, as we do when we reach our age, I never even considered that he would have been 80 and had passed on. I will contact his family, offer my heartfelt condolences, and perhaps offer to finally send them the $70 that I still owe Marc. His skill was a key factor in the success of my career, and I owe him far more than a paltry $70. R.I.P., my friend.

Recently I unearthed from a desk drawer a set of sample "calling" cards he sent to me years ago and wanted to send him a thank you note again. I still enjoy looking at them " Many of the cards had banker or physician themes.
Sorry to learn that his is gone.

A joyful spirit that sprang from a soul touched by every facet of life....he exuded humor, insight into nature, the love of the written word....the beauty of sharing his world.....He will forever be in our hearts and that funny smile and sparkling eyes never forgotten.............We were blessed in knowing him.

We were so very saddened to hear of Mr Drogin's passing. He made our business and appointment cards,
so we weren't aware he had passed until time to order new cards.
I loved chatting with him when I phoned to reorder cards. He was always so descriptive of the weather and if he was cozy on a snowy day, enjoying the birds in the garden on a sunny day, etc. I could always picture the scene in my mind.
I will miss those conversations and ordering cards will never be the same.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Drogin, He was thee nicest gentleman to talk to. loved speaking with him. And I always knew his voice when he called. He was always amazed that I knew who he was .. we always got great compliments on our appointment and recall cards, he did great work.. will be missed dearly..May you rest in peace.... I am so sad to hear of Marc' passing. I have a number of business cards that he designed. He was a fantastic illustrator. My sincerest condolences.
