Marc A. Martinez

A devoted father, son, brother and friend, Marc was born February 24, 1942 at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He departed this earth February 22, 2026 - just two days shy of his 84th birthday. He is preceded in death by both parents, Samuel and Bernadine Martinez who both originated from Puerto Rico; his wonderful wife of almost 53 years, Vivian Contegni Martinez; siblings Samual Martinez, Felicia Schins, Tessa Dodich and William Cuellar and brothers-in-law Robert Contegni and Hank Rider.

Marc was a United States veteran where he proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a retired flight inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration where he received many letters of accommodations including an award for his actions on 9/11/2001. Marc also spent many years working for Pan American Airways at Kennedy Airport in New York.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister Lee Rider, sisters-in-law Maureen Contegni and Elsa Martinez; his sons Peter (Kim) Martinez, and David (Tara) Martinez, grandson Benjamin Martinez, granddaughters Sophia and Stella Martinez, grandson Robert Anderson (Lonni) and great granddaughters Ava and Harper Anderson. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. He deeply loved and cherished all of his friends and family.

Memorial Visitation Thursday, March 5th, 2026 from 11:00a.m.- 1:00p.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Homes - Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Road Louisville, KY 40299

Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville Kentucky.
