Marcel Emile Leveque

Marcel E. (Mickey) Leveque - died at age 68, on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 4PM, at home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was a native New Orleanian. Beloved husband of Lynn Kappes Leveque for 47 years; father of 2 sons – Mel and Mark. Other survivors include his daughters-in-law Lauren and Tara; his grandchildren – Trey, Adam, Justin, Gabrielle, John, Jake; his sisters Margie Ralser, Patty Wayte, and Joann Reardon. Mickey was the nephew of Elaine and S.T. Jones and cousin to Sydney Elaine Adair and Earle Thompson, uncle of Cathy Reinhardt along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie Almerico and Emile Leveque, stepmother Margaret Leveque; Grandparents Myrtle and Mackey Leveque; Odile and Raoul Jourdan. He was a graduate of Cor Jesu (class '61), attended LSU, was a member of the Million$ Round Table for Provident Mutual. Thru the years Mickey coached hundreds of kids @ numerous playgrounds including Joe Brown, Ferncrest and finally Lakeshore. We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their love, support, and prayers. And a special thanks to his long-term caregiver, Cassandra Butler and to St. Joseph Hospice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17th from 6–9 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. and on Wednesday May 18th from 11:30AM – 1PM at ST.
