Marcel Denise Parker, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 25, 2023. Marcel was born in
Freeport, IL, and throughout her life, she brought immense joy to her loved ones.
Marcel was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She earned her high school diploma and went on to obtain a Business Degree, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and knowledge. Marcel's career as an event planner at Ogleby Mansion showcased her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Outside of her professional life, Marcel had a passion for flowers, arrangements, and decorating. Marcel also enjoyed shopping, cooking, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family and friends.
Marcel's service to her country was commendable, as she received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army. Her bravery and dedication will forever be remembered.
Marcel is survived by her loving spouse, Michael Parker, her children, Randall (Isabel) Peters, Sheyla Peters, and Micoti (Jessica) Parker, who were the pride and joy of her life. Marcel is survived by her brothers, Steve (Pat) Thomas, Stan (Gloria) Thomas, Shawn (Angela) Thomas, and Greg (Ruby) Thomas, as well as her sister Sheila Jackson, Cathy Lewis, Connie (John) Cook, Vickie Bond-Thomas, and Sherry (Bill) Mullen, she leaves behind her grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Marcel was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Joe Thomas, as well as her beloved daughter, Tiffany Peters, and her brother, Darwin Thomas.
