Marcelina "Marce" Battle
August 20, 1937 – March 7, 2026

Marcelina "Marce" Battle, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Guy J. Battle. After missing him dearly since his passing in March 2022, they are now reunited and with the Lord.

Marce was born in Barcelona, Spain, and grew up in Madrid. It was there that she met Guy. Their courtship crossed countries and continents during which their love and commitment grew stronger with each letter they wrote to each other. The two were married in Madrid on May 9, 1959, beginning a lifelong partnership that Marce often described as "made in heaven."

Their Catholic faith remained a constant anchor throughout their marriage and family life. Their faith was deepened even more by their involvement in the Cursillo movement. Marce was active in her church communities, first at SS. Peter and Paul and later at SS. Philip and James.

Marce dedicated her professional life to helping others as a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction. Helping others rebuild their lives was something she believed in deeply and felt called to do.

She expressed her love in many ways – sewing clothes for her daughters and showing countless people how to knit and crochet or how best to take care of their gardens. She learned to play classical guitar in her youth and instilled a love of music in her children as well.

Those who knew Marce remember her as strong, resilient, and always willing to share her opinions -qualities that carried her through many chapters of life. She had a sharp mind, a determined spirit, and the courage to stand her ground.

Marce is survived by her three daughters: Ann (Peter), Christine, and Pam (Jonathan). She is also survived by her grandchildren: David (Naama), Amelia, Jeremy, Marina, Ava (Jacob) and Blake; and by her great-grandchildren, Mia and Sammy; and and by her step-grandchildren Gabriella (Sam), John, Chloe and Samantha.

She will be remembered with love by her family and by the many lives she touched.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at SS. Philip & James Church in Exton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Missionary Society of St. Columban, www.columban.org/donate.
