Marcelina “Marci” Marie Luedeman, 73, of Central City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her home. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Central City, where a Scripture Service begins at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the church, with an additional one-hour Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Central City is assisting the family.
Marci was born on January 3, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Lucio and Violet (Saxton) Sanchez. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On June 14, 1969, Marci was united in marriage to Bruce Allen Luedeman at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Marci worked at Lil’ Drug Store for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Central City, where for over 25 years she worked as Faith Formation Director and Faith Formation Instructor, and later, as church secretary. Her faith was very important to her, as well as time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marci is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Bruce Luedeman of Central City; five children, Corbett (Amiee) Luedeman of Central City, Jennifer (Dan) Appelhans of Central City, Deacon (Val) Luedeman of Whittier, Iowa, Jamine (Ryan) Madison of Gladbrook, Iowa, and Quincey (Wendy) Luedeman of Marion; eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Haley, Deshawn, Avery, Johnathan, Wezley, Devaun, Liam, Violet, Kinzley, and Evelyn; four great-grandchildren, Dallis, Bennett, Wyatt, and Jett; one brother, Antonio Sanchez of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Lynn (Mike) Orwig of Saginaw, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Eric (Vernedia) Luedeman of Cedar Rapids and Gary Halverson of North Liberty; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Juanita Halverson, Mary Ellen Sanchez, William “Boomer” Sanchez, Geraldina “Geri” Varner, Randall Sanchez, and Annette Sanchez.
