Services for Marcella Marie Buhlig, 91, of Tyler, Texas, will be held on Friday, March 22nd, with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Dr. Mark Price and Pastor David Doyle will be officiating. Burial will be a brief graveside service on Wednesday, March 27th, 2:30 pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas.
Marcella went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 17th surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 5th, 1933 in Sedalia, Missouri to David Henry and Cora Mae Jones.
Marcella was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the "Ladies of Faith" life group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edwin Jones, sister Velma Pummill, son Daniel Wayne Buhlig and granddaughter Julie Beth Waterman.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, William L. Buhlig; her children: Karen (Jim) West, Jeff Buhlig, Paula (Dave) Waterman, Tim (Christin) Buhlig; 11 grandchildren: Jimmy (Jessie) West, Brian (Crystal) West, Eric (Morgan) West, Jackson Gardiner, Josh Buhlig, Jeremy Buhlig, Matt (Sarah) Waterman, Bobby (Jocelyn) Waterman, Caitlin (Brian) Bremner, Kelsey (James) Richards and Halley Buhlig; and 14 great-grandchildren: Avery, Lucas, Reese, Rachel, Nathan, Charlcey, Lemon, Birdie, Whit, Sage, Clive, Rowan, Alex and Jacquelyn.
Marcella had a warm, jolly personality and loved her family deeply. She also loved her church and church family. She went on many adventures with her family traveling in Asia, Europe and making multiple trips to Canada and Alaska. She and her husband Bill enjoyed their several years of RV-ing and numerous hunting and fishing excursions. No matter where she was, she made any location feel like home with her delicious cooking (especially her famous tea rings), her laugh and her love for all those around her.
