Marcella Katherine Ducas

Marcella "Marcy" Ducas, age 87 of Troy, MI went home to heaven on Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1935, in Detroit, MI to Edward and Hazel Placke. Beloved wife of the late Vernon Ducas (d. 2010); loving mother of Mark Ducas, Faith (Gary) Doody, Paul (Sophie) Ducas, and Joan (Michael) Doody. Feisty Grandma of Glen, Alan, Sean, Kevin and Aaron Doody and "Granny" to Ann and Kate Ducas.
Marcy grew up in Detroit, MI where she graduated from Servite High School. She married Vernon in April 1957. They lived for many years in Redford, MI before retiring to their "happy place" on Townline Lake in Lakeview, MI. In later years, they moved to Troy, MI to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Marcy loved to read, play cards, and spend time with her kids and grandkids. She had a special place in her heart for all of her grand-dogs over the years, including Dudlee, Coco, Calvin, Jenna, Copper, Ebony and Molly.
Marcy cherished her faith and prayed her Rosary every day. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Troy, MI, and treasured peaceful time spent in the Divine Mercy Chapel. She has recently been attending Mass at Christ Our Light! Catholic Church, where her granddaughters are altar servers.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500.
Funeral Mass Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Christ, Our Light!, 3077Glouchester, Troy. Visitation at church begins at 10:00 a.m.
