Marcella Kathleen "Marcy" Howell

A private memorial will be held at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial for Marcella "Macy" Kathleen Howell (Wies) who died at the age of 95 on the date of May 31, 2024.
Marcella "Macy" was born on September 1, 1928, in Faulk County, Seneca, South Dakota. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon in 1946. Upon graduation, she worked a short time at Asbury Transportation Co. Then she went to work for Pacific Inland Tariff Bureau in Portland for 42 years, working as a receptionist, typist and the last five years before retirement in 1988 she was their Office Manager. She was also President of the Sherwood-Tigard OrFCE (National Association for Family and Community Education) for nineteen years.
In 1960, she married Richard "Dick" Howell and they enjoyed more than 63 years of their marriage. After retirement, she and Dick enjoyed many years of traveling and cruising to many places in the U.S. and throughout the world.
Survivors include her husband, Dick; her nephew, Douglas Harger and his two children, grandnephew, Dr. Andrew Harger and grandniece, Renee Harger.
She will be greatly missed by her best traveling companion and husband, Dick. Also, the remaining relatives and numerous friends who knew and shared her lifetime. Her greatest pleasure was meeting new people during her life and travels who she kept in touch with over many, many years, these were gifts to her, friendships forever.
Private interment will be at Wilhelm's Portland Memorial. In lieu of flowers, she requests remembrances made to the Bonnie Hayes Small Animal Shelter in Hillsboro.
