Marcella J. Hughes

Marcella Hughes, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 57, on June 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 6,1966 in the city of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Marcella was the daughter of Veressa Bunch and Hiawatha Hughes. She grew up in a tight-knit community where she quickly gained a reputation for her fly personality. Marcella's early years were filled with adventures. Her magnetic personality earned her many friends, and she was always the life of the party.
Marcella attended Perth Amboy High School and got her GED later on in life. She excelled academically at Mercer Community College in broadcasting. She was always interested in learning how TV shows and films worked behind the camera. Her passion was writing, for she loved to write in her journal, hoping one day she would write a best selling book. Marcella also had a love for plants, and her home was a testament to this passion. Every windowsill was adorned with an array of potted herbs, succulents, and green plants that thrived under her careful attention.
Marcella's love for her granddaughter was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her. Marcella watched her granddaughter grow with pride and joy, knowing that their time together had shaped a strong, kind, and compassionate young girl. Their connection was a testament to the enduring power of love, a legacy that would continue to blossom in the heart of her granddaughter for years
to come.
Marcella leaves behind three brothers, a daughter and a plethora of nieces and nephews who she cared for dearly. She will be missed by many and never forgotten.
