Marcella Mooney Obituary
Marcella M. Mooney, age 98, of Highland, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025. She is survived by her sister beloved Eileen (late Joseph) Lopiccolo, extended family, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Clara Mooney.
A funeral Mass will be held directly at St. James Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave in Highland, on Tuesday. September 2, 2025, with visiting from 10 am until the time of mass at 10:30 am. Interment at St John/St Jospeh Cemetery in Hammond.
Marcella was a life-long resident of the area. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Hammond, and St. James Church in Highland. A retiree of Amoco Oil, she was an active member in the Annuitant's Club and BP Volunteers (AmoCARES).
In lieu of flowers, donations to The SHARE Foundation or Gibault Foundation would be appreciated. www.fagenmiller.com.

Marcelo was truly a wonderful godmother to me for 77 years. She never missed an occasion a sacrament or prayer cause for me throughout our walk on this Earth together. She counseled me at times of my lowest points and encouraged me to do so much with my life. She was truly a wonderful human being and a blessing that walked the Earth with many of us. It is with deep regret that I will miss the final earthly goodbye. Marcella and her aunt, my grandmother and roared with laughter each time they reminded me that my professed vow at the age of three was to marry a horse someday! Each letter, each card, each phone call, started with how's your horse,first.

Marcella was one of the first people I met at Standard Oil/Amoco when I was started working there. She was always pleasant and caring. I also occasionally played bridge with her when she retired. My sympathy to the family.
