Marcella Ludmila Rainosek, 93, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born November 19, 1930, in Schulenburg, Texas. With her parents, John F. Rainosek and Annie Zvesper Rainosek, and family they lived on a farm near Schulenburg.
She moved to Austin in 1955. She was a beautician for over forty years and was co-owner of the Three Sisters Beauty Salon until retirement in 1997. After retirement, she spent the majority of her time with her twin sister, Martha Jurecka, who had recently lost her husband. Marcella and Martha lived in Fayetteville, Texas until Martha passed away in January 2019. Marcella then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in February 2019 to be closer to family.
Marcella was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church while living in Austin and of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church while living in Fayetteville. Marcella was a very fun-loving aunt and one of the kindest individuals. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Martha Jurecka and husband, Bob; brother, John F. Rainosek, Jr. and wife, Virginia; sister Henrietta Shay and husband, Wallace; and twin sisters, Mary T. Rainosek and Ann V. Rainosek. Survivors include her brother, Frank Rainosek and wife, Mary, of Austin, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Services in Austin, Texas. On Monday, January 15, 2024, a rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Zack Rodriguez officiating. Elizabeth Aldrich, great niece, will be Lector. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin. Pallbearers will be her nephew, David Shay, nephews-in-law, Darrin Aldrich, Pat Brown, and Ron Fellers, and great nephews, Michael Shay and Daniel Shay. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Philip Shay, Anthony Rainosek, and Joe Rainosek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
