Marcella V. Sokup

Marcella V. Sokup, 84, a resident of Wissota Health & Rehabilitation, Chippewa Falls, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at the home. She was born August 15, 1926 in Florence, Italy, the daughter of Vito and Gina Cerbai. Marcella had worked as an in home child care provider. On April 19, 1947, she married Myron Sokup in Florence, Italy. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and St. Agnes Circle. She enjoyed playing cards and going to Bingo. Marcella is survived by: three sons, Rick and Mike Sokup both of Jim Falls and Mark (Ramona) Sokup of Chippewa Falls; one daughter, Cindy (Tim) Nyhus of Chippewa Falls; two grandchildren, Eddie Sokup, Jr. (Shannon Greene) and Joe (Sara) Sokup; and three great grandchildren, Nick, Gina and Blake Sokup. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Myron; one son, Eddie; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church, Jim Falls. Rev. Brian J. Jazdzewski will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Copp Cemetery, town of Anson. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 31, and until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls.
