Marcella "Marty" Zeches, age 96, passed away in her home at Benedictine Living Community in Anoka, on Oct 16th, 2025, with family at her side. Marcella Mary Stenger was born on March 26, 1929, in St. Paul, MN, to Fred and Irene Stenger. She had 5 sisters and 1 brother. She married Mark Zeches in 1946, following a short courtship, after meeting at a wedding. They lived in various places in Minnesota until settling in the Linwood community (Wyoming, MN) around 1960, where they raised 4 daughters.
Marcella worked various jobs over the years, but she most enjoyed the 13 years she spent as an LPN in the Chisago Lakes Hospital OB Dept. After her husband Mark passed in 1992, she devoted a lot of her time to the Linwood community and her church (Linwood Covenant). She remained in her Linwood home until she transitioned to assisted living in 2023.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Keith), Mary, Patricia (Tim), and Carol (Jeff); 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and son-in-law, Ron.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Linwood Covenant Church, 6565 Viking Blvd. NE, Wyoming, MN 55092. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Marcella will be privately laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Linwood Covenant Church.
