Marcia Ann Grauerholz, 71, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 1, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dr. Robert and Mary (Underwood) Sinclair, Marcia brought joy and music to all who knew her. A gifted musician, she graduated with a degree in music education and was a proud member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Her passion for music led her to direct community choirs and concerts, sharing her talent and inspiring others.
On May 22, 1976, she married her beloved husband, Marcus Ray Grauerholz, beginning a loving partnership that spanned nearly 50 years. They built a life together in Olathe, Kansas, where they shared a love for showing dogs in conformation and obedience competitions.
Marcia enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Instructional Designer for Sprint and later Optum, retiring in 2021.
An active member of the Kansas City St. Andrew Society, she embraced her Scottish heritage and found joy in playing the bagpipes. Above all, Marcia cherished time spent with family and friends, especially at her annual Independence Day celebrations, where she created lasting memories with loved ones.
Marcia is survived by her devoted husband, Marcus; her loving daughter, Jesselyn, and son-in-law, Ryan; her cherished son, Zachary, and daughter-in-law, Tina; her adored grandchildren, Henry and Ronen; and her dear sister, Bonnie, and brother-in-law Bruce, along with her niece Liz and nephews Rob & Charley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, at Holy Field Winery, 18807 158th Street, Basehor, Kansas 66007, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. All are welcome to join the family in remembering Marcia and sharing stories and refreshments.
