Marcia S. Herron, 91, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 9, 2025 at Hamilton Communities, Inc.in New Carlisle, IN.
She was born October 12, 1934 in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of Wendell M Herron and Charlotte F. (Parmenter) Herron.
Marcia grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and came to La Porte from Niles, MI. She worked as a cashier for Walmart for 12 years and was a past member of the Eastern Star. She was greatly loved and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Christy Qualkenbush, of Michigan City; two sons, Mark Verburg of La Porte and Daniel (Cheryl) Verburg of TX; and three great grandchildren.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diane L. Daus, son-in-law, Timothy Daus, brother, Charles I Herron.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, (219) 362-3333. Cremation has been selected. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, in Grand Rapids, MI.
