Marcia Hutson Obituary

Marcia Kay Hutson
10/25/1943 - 11/24/2025
Marcia Kay (Hunter) Hutson, 82, of Morley, Mich., completed her earthly journey and began her heavenly one on Monday, November 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nile Hutson; her parents, Paul and Lena Hunter; and her siblings, Don and Nancy Hunter.
She is survived by her children, Connie (Les) Sims, Christine (Bill) Heath, Darrel (Terri) Hutson, Colleen (Scott) Crater; her grandchildren, Lena (Tyler) Hendryx, Ian Sims (Shannon Melick), Alex Heath, Megan Heath (Ben Kellar), Nicholas Heath, Rachel Gary, Adam Redinger, Rachael (John) Van Baren, Zachary (Melissa) Crater, Jacob (Shelby) Crater, Joshua (Jade) Crater, Rebekka (Ruben) Moreno, and Ezekiel (Neola) Crater; and thirty great-grandchildren.
Marcia married Nile Hutson in June 1963. Together, they raised four children in the home where she would live for the rest of her life. She retired from a long and lively career as a school bus driver.
A devout Christian, Marcia's faith was evident in her dedication to her church family. Sunday services and Bible-study sessions with "her ladies" were among the highlights of her week.
Marcia was a lover of the outdoors and an avid gardener, always happy to take visitors on what she called her "posy walk," proudly showcasing her flowers. She fed the birds that gathered in her yard and even welcomed the squirrels who grew fat raiding the birdseed. In winter, she loved snowshoeing through the quiet woods and fields around her home, breathing the fresh air and watching for deer and other wildlife. Marcia also enjoyed regular canoeing trips with her family, sharing her love of nature and inspiring her grandchildren to seek out their own outdoor adventures.
With a large extended family, Marcia welcomed everyone into her home for countless gatherings, especially the annual Thanksgiving celebrations that brought her children and grandchildren back to Morley. She adored these holidays, often spent around a deck of cards playing Euchre, Phase 10, or Canasta, which she fondly called "Cah-nasty." She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.
And this year, as Marcia leaves this earthly home, we take comfort in knowing she will be celebrating the holidays with her heavenly family, even as those she loved gather here to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to ours.
Funeral services for Marcia will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home-Lakeview with Pastor Alex Sabol officiating. The family will greet friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley will follow a luncheon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkinson's Association of West MI, 7311 Crystal View Dr. SE, Caledonia MI 49316 or Susan Mast Foundation, 2500 Waldorf Ct. NW, Grand Rapids,MI 49544
