MARCIA M. MAZZEI
Age 84, of South Fayette, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Loving mother of Tracy Harrison (David) and Denise Romeo (Ron); beloved grandmother of Julie, Mark, and Sam Harrison and Annabelle and Marygrace Romeo; sister of William Hynes (the late Diane) and the late Andrew Hynes (the late Coral); and cherished partner of Bill Pitzer. She is also survived by her former spouse and the father of her daughters, Frank Mazzei and his partner, Gail Kron.
Marcia was strong, resilient, and fiercely independent. She worked nights at Nabisco and cleaned houses during the day to provide for her family. She, along with Frank, put both of her daughters through college. Marcia was full of life. She loved having fun and enjoyed going to concerts, dancing, and going to shows and lunch with her friends. She was a great cook and was known for her fantastic Thanksgiving dinners.
Later in life, she enjoyed playing board games and cards with her granddaughters and anyone else who was around. Above everything, Marcia loved her family.
She was a fighter in the best sense of the word. In her last decade, she overcame multiple health issues to live on her terms, always keeping a positive outlook. She fought courageously to the end.
The family would like to thank her caregivers who treated Marcia with love, respect, and empathy. To know Marcia was to love her, and each nurse, aid and caregiver became a trusted family member. From the bottom of their hearts, Marcia’s family says thank you. Special thanks also go to Bill Pitzer for being her staunch ally in all circumstances.
All are welcome on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-5 PM, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township, 412-563-2800, where her blessing service will take place at 5 pm. Interment will be private.
