MARCIA MITCHELL SODEN

SODEN, Marcia Mitchell 9/15/1945 - 8/21/2025 Age 79, died August 21, 2025, after a brief illness, in Parker, Colorado, surrounded by her loving family. Marcia was born in Buffalo, New York. She was the daughter of Harris LaMonte Mitchell and Gwendolyn Mitchell. Marcia earned a B.A. degree from William Smith College and an M.S. degree in Education from Wheelock College. Marcia was a resident of Boston, Massachusetts, for many decades, where she contributed significantly to the city's cultural and philanthropic community. A lifelong educator, Marcia worked principally for the Boston Public Schools, with a focus on the needs of students with learning disabilities. Marcia was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Richard Allan Soden. Marcia is survived by her children, Matthew (wife Sarah) and Mark; and grandchildren, Renee, Marcia and Margaret.
