Marcia Waters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Torbert Funeral Chapels on Dec. 1, 2025.
Marcia Leigh (Jensen)Waters
April 11, 1955 – November 25, 2025
70 Years Old
Marcia Leigh (Jensen) Waters, age 70 of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, after a short illness. Surrounded by loved ones, she left this world with the same courageousness and love that defined her character.
Marcia was born on April 11, 1955, in Quincy, Massachusetts to Betty Ann (Towle) Jensen and Arild Jensen.
In 1973, after graduating from Jamaica Plain High School in Boston, she went on to attend Salem State College where she would meet her future husband, Richard Waters. After marriage, Marcia traveled the world with Richard as a military spouse and embraced the challenges and adventures with which she was faced. She eventually returned to school earning both her associate and bachelor's degrees in accounting and her master's in business administration. Marcia worked in the banking and investment industry spending 20 years with various divisions of PNC Bank Financial Services through their mergers and acquisitions.
From volunteering in her children's classrooms while they were growing up to traveling with her grandson to his track meets to cheer him on, Marcia was a dedicated wife, mother, Oma, and sister who made sure that those closest to her knew just how much she loved and cared for them. This dedication continued in her work with the various ministries of Christ Episcopal Church, which included the Altar Guild, the Prayer Shawl Ministry and most recently the Daughters of the King. Her faith and compassion were a true testament to her faith.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard, her daughter, Angelique, her son, Jordan and his wife Rachel, grandson Jonathan and his fiancée Jenna, grandson Chris Flagg-Parte and his wife LeighAnn, granddaughter Bethany Maldonado, granddaughter Kari Maldonado, great-granddaughter Rayna, her sister Jo-Anne Buswell (Dana), her brother Peter Jensen (Kathy), Brother-in-Law Dennis Waters, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will love and miss her. Marcia is preceded in death by her son, Alexander, mother, Betty Jensen, father-in-law Albert Waters, mother-in-law Carolyn Waters, and father Arild Jensen.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of the CV/SICU at Bayhealth Kent for their dedicated care to Marcia while she was there.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1374, Dover, DE 19903-1374.
Marcia's love and compassion will continue to guide us, and her memory will live on in all the lives she touched.

To my dear friend Richard Waters and his family, I wish to express my sincere condolences as relates the passing of his wife and life long love. I had the pleasure and honor of being the best man at Marcia and Richard's wedding, and continue to stay in contact with Richard on a regular basis. Thank you both for your many years of friendship and great advice. I love you both, and hope the pain of your loss will lessen with time. Take care my Brother. Stephen Hicks...
