Marcus Corry Obituary

Marcus Antwane Corry, Jr.

Affectionately known as “Batman,” Marcus Antwane Corry, Jr., age 25, was welcomed into eternity on March 16, 2025. Born to Marcus Antwane Corry, Sr. and Dr. Nicole Sherrill-Jamison, Marcus was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend whose presence brought warmth, joy, and inspiration to all who knew him.

Marcus's vibrant spirit, unwavering determination, and deep love for his family and friends defined his life. His infectious laughter, compassionate heart, and relentless drive left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Always uplifting those around him, Marcus encouraged others to chase their dreams fearlessly and live life to the fullest.

A proud graduate of Salisbury High School, Class of 2017, Marcus excelled both academically and athletically. As an honors student in Latin and a three-sport athlete, he demonstrated exceptional talent in football, baseball, and basketball. His leadership and sportsmanship left a lasting impression on his teammates, coaches, and all who had the privilege of witnessing his dedication. Marcus's academic excellence earned him a prestigious scholarship to Campbell University in 2017, where he pursued his dream of becoming a physical therapist while also playing football.

Throughout his life, Marcus was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He was employed by Chewy, Food Lion Warehouse, NSC Behavioral Concepts, and FedEx, always bringing the same passion and commitment to his professional endeavors as he did to his personal life.

Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, James R. Sherrill Sr. and Mary S. Sherrill; paternal great-grandparents, Alonzo Corry and Ruth H. Corry; maternal grandmother, Patricia S. Swann; uncle, O. Keith Sherrill; beloved son, Major Jace Corry and best friend Paris Terik Hillie.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Kaitlyn Pall; his children, Matthieu James Corry, Aubrie Noelle Payton Washington, and stepson Kaleb Pall; his loving parents, Marcus Antwane Corry, Sr. and Dr. Nicole Sherrill-Jamison; his siblings, Desmond L. Sherrill (Tiffany), Treasure D. Corry, and Brooke T. Corry; his grandmother, Virginia Wheeler; his grandfather, Raymond Ellis, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Amiyah M. Corry, Storm Marby , Brynn N. Oliver, Brock L. Oliver, and Ayden L. Sherrill; aunts, Crystal (Anthony) Lewis and Whitney Ellis; uncles, Phillip A. Corry Sr. and Kemper B. Sherrill(Sikia); godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'Kelly; best friends, Jerleel Allison, Jaylen McClellan, Allen Tulloch; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.

Marcus's life was a testament to strength, perseverance, and love. Though he has gained his heavenly wings, his spirit will continue to shine through the countless lives he touched. We celebrate his life, honor his legacy, and hold dear the beautiful moments he gifted us.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." - Matthew 25:23*
