Mr. Marcus Deshon King Sr. was born on November 10, 1973 to Linda Robinson and Robert King Jr. of Little Rock, AR.
Marcus graduated from McCellon High School in Little Rock, AR.
Marcus accepted Christ at an early age. He was loved by many people near and far, some of his closest friends called him “Stang”.
Marcus was a truck driver that traveled to various places. He also worked at New Creations detail shop. Marcus loved his family and his friends. He loved to bar-b-que and play dominoes. He had a beautiful heart and lived life to the fullest. Marcus was a person that never complained, not even at the end of life.
Marcus passed away on December 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Geraldine Bell on November 17, 2003 of Little Rock, AR and grandfather, John Charles Robinson on July 16, 2020 of Little Rock, AR (via Minneapolis, MN).
Marcus is survived by his loving wife, Kamela Brown-King; his only son, Marcus Deshon King Jr.; one stepdaughter, Tameyah; two stepsons, Treylon and Ty’Reion Wilson; his mother, Linda Robinson of Dallas, TX and Mr. Theodos Brown who raised him of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Tasha Brown of Dallas, TX and Lisa Brown of Kansas City; brother, Theodos Brown III (Crystal Brown) of Dallas; grandmother, Cathrine Robinson of Minneapolis, MN; nine aunts, Shirley & George, Alice & Neville, Debra Robinson, Angela & Tony, Valarie & John, Tishia & Regionald, Shone & LeLe, Pamela King Franklin & Calvin, Inez King; three uncle, Ricky King, Ray and Willie Brown of Little Rock, AR; two nephews, Dominicus Haley, Ladarious Davis; a special cousin, Eddie Smith, who he helped raise; two goddaughters, Sontique and Shyla McKinney; mother-in-law, Constance Blanford; father-in-law, James Blanford; three brothers-in-law, Kamar & Kisha, James & Daranisi and Darius & Kiesha; sister-in-law, Krystal; a host of family members and friends.
The services to honor Marcus's life will commence with a viewing at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224, on January 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at Turning Point Church at 1020 East Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, TX 75115, on January 4, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM.
Marcus Deshon King Sr. will be remembered for his love of family, his infectious laughter, and the joy he brought to others. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
