Marcus Christian Swope
August 8, 1986 - July 2, 2025
Marcus Swope, 38, of North Little Rock, left us abruptly on July 2, 2025. Though his passing was sudden and heartbreaking, he will now find peace from the pain of losing both of his parents. Those who loved him will remember his fierce mind, his generous heart, and the way he took care to find humor in all things.
Marcus turned his lifelong interest in computers into a career as a software developer. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks his entire life. He had a passion for music, art, and reading. He had a deep love for his family and community.
Marcus believed fiercely in justice and dignity for all people. Because of this conviction, he took a trip to Palestine in 2016. This trip was life changing for Marcus and we would like to honor his unfinished work. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Little Rock Peace for Palestine https://givebutter.com/LRPP
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Birdie; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil, Shannon, Kyle, and Ange; His nieces and nephews Addie, Taylor, Eli, Ryan, and Lincoln; and a deep circle of friends who will miss him terribly. A memorial service will be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home on July 10th. Visitation will start at 4:00 pm followed by a service at 5:00 pm.
