A. Marcilena "Marcy" Becker, Matson, Young, age 88 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 17, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by William Matson, Monroe S. Young; parents, Henry and Ruth Becker; sisters, Mary Nachtrab and Norma (Charles) Beck.
Marcy is survived by her brother-in-law, Bernard Nachtrab; special friend, Donald Mossbarger; daughters, Jill (Don) Abell, Jane (Dean Rugh) Zimmer; son, Jon (Denise) Matson; step-son, Scott Young; grandchildren, Ashley (Dennis) McPike, Zohn (Elizabeth) Zimmer, Dillon (Breanna) Matson, Beau Matson; step grandchildren, Zachery Young, Sarah (Logan) Ballard; great grandchildren, Lucy and Leah McPike, Claire and Caroline Zimmer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marcy lived in Dayton her whole life. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1953 and was very active in the alumni class community. She graduated from Sinclair Community College in 1988 with an Associate of Arts degree. She worked for Good Samaritan Hospital and Samaritan North for over 35 years, where she taught continuing education classes. Marcy was also active in Senior Sams for many years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (9579 Yankee Road, Springboro, OH 45066). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am. A private graveside service will be held at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
