Mardell Joy Rhoadarmer passed away on December 15, 2024 in Portland, Oregon. She was 74.
Mardell was born November 13, 1950 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Henry and Ann Brandt. She graduated from Wetaskiwin High School and Vancouver Bible College where she met her husband Mark. They were married for 21 years.
Mardell served God diligently her entire life. She was the wife of a pastor, Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, and held many other roles in numerous churches throughout the years. Mardell was a member of Warren Baptist Church for the past 22+ years. She also loved spending time with family, watching her grandchildren's plays and soccer games, visiting her best friend Alice (of almost 40 years), and attending family reunions in Canada and Minnesota. She never missed sending a birthday card or email to loved ones.
Mardell lived and worked in St. Helens, Oregon. She worked at Riverside Training Center and then at Columbia Community Mental Health for over 16 years as a service coordinator and eligibility specialist. Mardell was still working part time at CCMH when she had her first stroke at the age of 73.
Mardell was preceded in death by her husband Mark in 1994. She is survived by her children, Colleen (Brian) Croney, Nathan Rhoadarmer, David Rhoadarmer; grandchildren Laine and Zach Croney; sister Myrna (Chuck) Nystrom; sister Yvonne (Ken) Demoskoff; brother Curtis (Marg) Brandt; and many nephews and nieces and their children.
Mardell's quiet strength, devotion, and love for her family and friends was immeasurable. She will be forever remembered for her kindness.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 5p.m. on January 9, at the Warren Baptist Church, 56799 Columbia River Hwy, Warren, OR 97053.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Rhoadarmer family and their extended loved ones. I was fortunate to spend a part of my childhood in and out of the Rhoadarmer household, both before and after Mark´s passing. When I moved to the area, Nathan quickly became my best friend, and I had the privilege of sharing countless memorable moments with their family-dinners, weekend activities, sleepovers, and attending church together.

Although I didn´t grow up in the church, Mark and Mardell always made me feel welcome in their home and created an environment where I felt comfortable and at ease. Throughout our childhood, Mardell and Mark stood out as the most kind and gentle parents, always striving to give their children everything they could.

I hold many fond memories of Mardell, and I will always remember her smile. She touched so many lives and will undoubtedly be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. I am truly sorry for your loss and will always cherish the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her. I am deeply grateful to have had her as part of my life.
