Margaree Brasill, 88 of Hanson passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur P. Brasill, Sr., for 67 years. Born on August 7, 1937 in Dekalb County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Dallas R. and Essie E. (Ridgway) Rowell.
After her marriage to Arthur in 1956 she moved to Brockton and made that her home. She worked for Ward Machine for a brief time before starting her family. Many years later she went to work at Brockton High School in the lunch program and retired from the Brockton School Department Personnel Office. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and all of the holidays were celebrated at her home where everyone was welcome. She would make frequent trips to her home state of Alabama to be with her family, particularly with her sister, Brenda, who she shared a special bond with. While there she would collect gourds and wood products for her craft shows. She had an amazing ability to craft anything she thought of. From painting gourds and wood products to sewing, quilting, and weaving she loved sharing her finished products with her family and friends. She started the annual Christmas cookie swap many years ago and it is still going strong today. The annual Easter Egg hunt in the woods of her Hanson home was a special time for the family, but especially the grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved gardening. She bowled on a league for many years and once even appeared on the show Candlepins for Cash.
In addition to her husband, Margaree, is survived by her children, Ronald Brasill of Brockton, Pamela Berglund and her husband Richard of Easton, Arthur Brasill, Jr. and his wife Lorna of Bridgewater, James Brasill and his wife Pamela of East Bridgewater, and Terri Creney and her husband Michael of Hingham; her sister and Brother-in-Law Brenda and Carmie Pettry of Alabama; and her Sister-in-Law June Brasill of Brockton. 14 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Bill Rowell, Sister-in-Law of the late Marion and John Kelliher, Mother-in-law of the late Nancy Brasill (wife of Ronald), and the Great-grandmother of the late Jordan McGrath-Edlund. A special thank you to her wonderful and caring neighbors who have always been there for her.
