Margaret Baker Obituary
Margaret Iris Baker, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Brookdale Long Term Care on July 14, 2025. She is survived by her children, Margaret Ann Hall (David), and Kenneth Ray Baker. She is survived by five grandchildren: David Clayton Hall III (Sara), Carolyn Spring Hrncir (Bryan), Christopher Wayne Box (Cassie), Cheryl Beth Rodriguez (Ricky), and Brandon Lee Box (Ashleigh). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Iris Baker was born on August 9, 1937, in Luling, Texas, to Margaret Elliott White and Robert Melvin White. While attending Goliad High School, she met her future husband, Harvey Lee Baker; they were married August 6, 1955. They moved from Corpus Christi to Portland in 1965. Iris Baker moved to Brookdale Senior Living in 2018, after the passing of Harvey.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Robert (Bob) Melvin White Jr. and Raymond Elliott White (Kathryn); daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Lee and Howard Wayne Box; and grandchild, Beverly Florence Hall.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, where a Funeral Service will begin that same morning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow services at 12 PM at Glendale Cemetery in Goliad, Texas.
