Margaret M. Bessell, 88, of E. Friendship Street, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Quality Life Services in New Castle. She was born on June 10, 1936, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Mary Hudak. She was married to the late Ronald A. Bessell, who died October of 1990. Mrs. Bessell worked as a decorator for Shenango China, retiring after 25 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and above all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda D. Shorts of New Castle, Kathy M. Minteer and her husband Richard of New Castle, and Debbie L. Jones of Orwell, OH, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy McCormick of New Castle, and one sister-in-law, Beverly Gettings.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, William Jaskola.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
