Margaret Bligh Obituary

Visit the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. - West Reading website to view the full obituary.

Margaret Bligh, cherished wife, loving sister, adored aunt and great-aunt, devoted friend, and esteemed colleague, passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 78, in the care of Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of James Bligh, with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Chester and Peggy Keller, Marge spent her later years in Wyomissing, PA, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication to her work and community. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church of West Reading.

Margaret graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgian Court University in 1984, and continued her studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, earning a Master's Degree in Public Administration in 1988. Furthering her expertise in health care, she completed the Post-Masters Program in Nursing Administration at Villanova University and participated in the Focus on Future of Healthcare-Executive Program at Harvard University. Her impressive academic achievements were fueled by her passion for advocating education and advancing women's roles in the nursing profession.

In her professional life, Margaret was a respected health care administrator who served as the Vice President of Operations for Reading Hospital-Tower Health for over 18 years until her retirement in 2020. Her influence extended beyond the walls of the hospital, as she dedicated over 11 years to the Board of Directors for The Children's Home of Reading, making a profound impact on the lives of the children and families served by the organization.

Marge will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Bligh; her nephews, Jacob (Cathy), Seth (Claire), and Benjamin (Kate) Keller; and her sister, Kathleen Keller Grgin. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Chester M. "Mickey" Keller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 740 Cherry St, West Reading, PA 19611. Friends and family are welcome to visit at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Marge will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in a private service.

Marge's compassion, leadership, and commitment to her family, the healthcare field, and her community will be deeply missed.
