Margaret E. Cable, 100, of Shavertown, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at United Methodist Homes Wesley Village Campus, surrounded by family.
Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Nellie Jones Davis. She was a graduate of Kingston Twp. High School, College Misericordia and received her master's degree in library science from Marywood University. She was an elementary teacher in the Old Lyme, Conn., school district and a school librarian in Hamden, Conn.
Margaret was preceded in death by husband, E. Robert Cable, in 1998; and brother, Donald E. Davis, Tunkhannock.
Surviving are her son, James Shepherd (Cindy), Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Lindsay Shepherd, Peckville; Laura Shields (Joseph), Forty Fort; great-grandchild, Casey Winifred Kane, Peckville; brother, Stanley Davis (Marilyn), Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, Dallas; SPCA of Luzerne County, Wilkes-Barre; or True Friends Animal Welfare Center, Montrose.
Funeral services will be private with interment in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

Peggy was married to my Uncle Bob, and we loved her so much. We were blessed to have her and Bob live close to us, joining in family functions. So sorry for your loss, Robin (Linke) and John DeLucia.
