Margaret Conrad Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Solimine Funeral Homes - Broadway on Sep. 25, 2025.
Margaret A. "Peg" (Grant) Conrad, age 71, of North Reading, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Winchester Hospital, where she was brought after being stricken at home. She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Douglass R. and Margery E. (Sexton) Grant. Peg was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1972. She had lived in Salt Lake City, UT, Greensborough, NC, and in various cities in MA, and has resided in North Reading for the past six years.

Peg had worked in customer service for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the North Reading Moose Lodge and a frequent visitor to the Cape Ann Marina where she established many friendships. She loved dogs and spending time with her beloved family. She will be remembered as a very caring, social and giving person, and a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. Above all, she was an amazing mom.

She is survived by her daughter, Megan Conrad and her partner Terence Warren of Haverhill; her fiancé and the love of her life, Gerard Cote of North Reading; her siblings, Oneita Soutter of Quincy, Arlyne Grant of Randolph, Janice Pollock and her husband Frank of Longs, SC, and Douglass A. Grant of Lynn; as well as several nieces and nephews, her devoted dog, Jack and her grand-dog, Bailey.

At the request of the family, her services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Why Not Devin Foundation to End DIPG at https://www.thewhynotdevinfoundation.org/donate

I met Peg through Northern New England Westie Rescue group when I adopted my Cairn Terrier, Barney. She cared for Barney and my other rescue on a few occasions when I vacationed and over the years we remained friends on FB. I am so very sad and send my condolences to Megan, who I also met on those occasions in Haverhill, MA. Peg was a kind and beautiful person, RIP my friend.

I met Peg when I started a new job. We quickly became friends. She and Megan became part of our family. We enjoyed holidays together and would get together to talk. She would also go on our annual trip to the Deerfield fair. After she retired we would get together periodically to catch up. I spoke with her the day before she passed. We were making plans to have dinner together. I will miss her dearly.

Peg had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and ready for a good time. I´ll always treasure the fun outings we had - especially over espresso martinis, where her joy and wit flowed. I will miss you dearly. My deepest condolences to the family-may you find comfort in the love, laughter, and beautiful memories Peg leaves behind
